To obtain for a Building Permit:
The following is a listing of the process that should be followed when obtaining a building perit in Iosco, Ogemaw, or Alcona counties:
Contact the appropriate Health Department for the well and septic permit
Take the Health Department Permit, property description, house and site plans to the area Zoning Administrator for a Zoning Permit.
Stop at the county Road Commission office with a property description and plan to obtain a driveway permit.
If the proposed structure will be constructed within 500 feert of any lake or strean you will need a Soil and Sediment Control Permit. This is obtained from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
Take all the above permits along with two sets of building plans to the Building Code Official for the area you plan to build in.
If you will be doing any of the mecanical or electrical work, contact the appropriate inspector for the mechanical, plumbing and electricl permits.
